Welcome to my website! My name is Keith Johnson, owner of Johnson Woodwerx. After retiring from the heating and air conditioning business of 46 years, I have decided to follow my passion of woodworking full time.

As I began this journey 18 years ago, I started this hobby with a jet mini and only turned pens and small bowls. I quickly discovered that I enjoyed turning larger bowls and plates more, but the lathe I was working with was too small. My wonderful wife, Patti, bought me a Powermatic 3520A about 15 years ago, and I have been turning ever since.

With health issues and running my own AC business taking a lot of my energy throughout the years, I wasn’t able to concentrate on my passion as much as I would have liked. Since my retirement in January 2022, I have devoted all of my time to this amazing skill of woodworking. This is how Johnson Woodwerx was born.

I would like to thank my brother for introducing me to woodturning, and my wife for always supporting me over the years. She has a Jet 12/21 lathe herself.
